Walter Jefferson

Walter Jefferson is one of the founding partners of Cutrer & Jefferson.  He received his undergraduate degree in business from the School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin and his Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law.  He served as Assistant to former U.S. Senator Lyndon Baines Johnson, Assistant to Houston Mayor Lewis Cutrer, and Director of Civil Service for the City of Houston.  Following Mr. Cutrer's tenure as mayor, he returned to the private practice of law and asked Mr. Jefferson to join him as partner.

 

As an attorney, Mr. Jefferson has assisted in many formidable advancements in the city of Houston.  He was one of the organizers and served on the board of directors of the Benjy F. Brooks Foundation for Children which helped establish the first chair in pediatric surgery at Hermann Hospital, today known as Memorial Hermann Hospital.  He has been practicing law for 50 years.  Areas of practice include litigation, trusts and estates, probate, family law, oil and gas, and eminent domain/condemnation.

 

Mr. Jefferson is married to his wife of over 50 years, Barbara.  Together they have three children, and three grandchildren.
